Many CCCS students live in countries of political unrest. Honduras is suffering much political unrest and violence and they desperately need prayers.Director Dunia Solis reports the opening of their first pre-school in La Canada. The Dr. Martin Luther Preschool welcomed 20 children upon opening its doors in 2009, and the attendance is growing.
CCCS reaches poor children in remote areas. Karina Velasquez was a CCCS student who lost her parents; at 18 years, she was left to raise her four young brothers, one of whom has polio. While raising her brothers, Karina had a stroke and became blind. Now, the church members help with thebrothers and Karina once again is a CCCS scholarship student—this time at the school for the blind.
